IT Can Help is a UK wide network of volunteers with IT skills who provide free assistance to disabled people in their homes.
In Avon/Bristol we are currently looking for a volunteer coordinator and IT support volunteers.
The IT support volunteer role involves visiting clients in their own homes or other locations such as residential homes and day care centres. The aim of the role is to provide free and impartial advice and assistance, on a one-off or short-term basis, to resolve computer related issues including advising on software or hardware and helping with assistive technology or accessibility settings.
The County Coordinator role includes allocating client calls to IT Support Volunteers, assisting in the recruitment of volunteers, meeting potential volunteers, publicising the network locally, keeping track of activity, supporting your volunteers and sometimes visiting clients. The required skills include good interpersonal and communication skills, access to computer and email, able to travel to meet potential volunteers, adequate IT skills, some administrative or management experience, and the ability to work from home.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Due to the nature of these roles an enhanced CRB check is required.
